NOT ALL EDUCATED CITIZENS ARE FINANCIALLY LITERATE.

Education vs. Financial Literacy

Formal Education.
Many individuals attain high levels of formal education, such as bachelor's degrees, masters degrees, PhDs, which focus on various academic disciplines but may not include financial education.

Financial Literacy:
This involves the ability to understand and effectively manage financial resources, including budgeting, investing, and understanding credit.

Curriculum Limitations
Lack of Financial Education in Schools. Most educational systems do not include personal finance as a core subject, leaving graduates without essential money management skills.
Focus on Theory. Higher education often emphasizes theoretical knowledge over practical application, which can lead to a disconnect when dealing with real-world financial issues.

Psychological Barriers
Overconfidence. Higher education may breed a sense of overconfidence, causing individuals to underestimate the importance of financial knowledge.
Fear of Failure. The fear of making mistakes can prevent educated individuals from engaging with financial topics, leading to avoidance.

Society and Cultural Factors
Cultural Attitudes Towards Money: In some cultures, discussing finances is stigmatized, which can hinder the development of financial literacy.
Peer Influences. Social circles may prioritize different values, which can lead to neglecting financial education in favor of other pursuits.

Focus on Career and neglect financial education
Prioritization of Professional Skills. Many educated individuals focus on advancing their careers, often at the expense of learning about personal finance.
Busy professionals may not allocate time to educate themselves about financial matters, leading to a lack of financial knowledge.

Conclusion
I advice you people to adapt to the changing world of finance where financial literacy is vital for both highly educated and less educated. By integrating financial literacy into school curricula and promoting resources for self-education, individuals can improve on their personal finance, regardless of their level of formal education.
